Our Philosophy
Music is a lifelong journey and no two journeys are identical. We believe in the importance of establishing a positive foundational relationship with music and the process of learning it. No rigid curriculums, but rather flexible lessons that focus on whatever interests the student.
If we have done our job well, all students will not only learn to play and perform songs they enjoy, but also develop the drive and the skills to self teach beyond their scheduled lessons. Music is a lifelong journey and most of life is not spent in a lesson room.
Meet the Founder
Andrew Roti has had a passion for music since he was a toddler. There wasn’t a night that went by during his childhood where he didn’t fall asleep listening to something on his Sony boombox. Whether it was an oldies radio station, The Blues Brothers, The Monkees, Led Zeppelin or Rage Against the Machine, he made a point to be surrounded by music as much as he could.
He began playing music in 6th grade after joining the Belzer Middle School Concert Band in Lawrence, Indiana as a baritone player. He started to learn electric bass that same year and, although he stuck with brass band through 8th grade, bass became his primary focus. He was able to make so many new, interesting friends and his confidence grew exponentially. Music became an outlet and an identity for a once very shy child.
After graduating from Lawrence Central High School, he received a beautiful Gretsch guitar as a graduation present from his parents. He didn’t really play guitar at the time but made a point to learn as a way to show his appreciation. Guitar became his tool of choice for composing and introduced him to a whole new lifelong passion of his, music theory.
Around the same time he started working as a bassist for hire and has gigged with dozens of local Indiana artists since. He’s performed in over 500+ shows all across the country and some of his groups have opened for national artists such as Lady Antebellum, Covet, Wheatus, and Lizzo.
While writing, producing, and performing music is his first passion, teaching is a close second. He has 10+ years experience teaching private music lessons as well as helping manage student lead bands and ensembles. He also has spent the last 2 years working as a Registered Behavior Technician where he runs therapy sessions for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
